First European Woman To Join Asomdwee Ntonton Som
Christine Agnes Nicholson Abena made history as the first European lady to experience the full version of the seven-days Rabbi Ogyebea Festival in Ghana. The festival, which is celebrated three times a year, is a crucial aspect of the Asomdwee Ntonton Som religion. Christine, who was born in Belgium, raised in South Africa, and currently residing in the UK, was introduced to the religion by her husband, Edward Essilfie Nicholson.
On the 6th of April 2023, Christine was baptized by the Messiah Nyame Somafo Yawoh as soon as she set foot on the holy grounds at Ekumfi Otuam in the central region. She was filled with excitement and had fun during the entire festival. She stayed to receive all the benefits of the third holy temple built by Nyame Somafo Yawoh, which is situated in Ghana.
The Rabbi Ogyebea Festival was introduced into the Asomdwee Ntonton Som religion in 2014 after Nyame Somafo Yawoh heard and received directives from the Most High God (RABBI). Since its inception, the festival has been celebrated every year as directed by Nyame Somafo Yawoh. The festival is celebrated in the second week of April, the second week of August, and the third week of December every year.
During the festival, members of the religion gather at the temple at a given time, usually around 3:00 pm, to sit and reflect on how mighty the Most High God is. They praise His Holy name and thank Him for His blessings. At 9:00 pm each night, all members come together and go around the temple, reciting what has been instructed, saying “Rabbi Ye Kese” “Oye Kese Ampa,” which means “Most High God is Great” “He is Great Indeed.”
The festival is a time for members of the Asomdwee Ntonton Som religion to come together, celebrate their faith, and renew their commitment to serving the Most High God. It is also a time for members to reflect on their lives, seek forgiveness for their sins, and pray for blessings for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Christine’s participation in the festival was significant as it shows the diversity of the religion and how people from all walks of life can come together to celebrate their faith. Her experience also highlights the importance of cultural exchange and how it can enrich one’s understanding of different cultures and religions.
