My Trip to Ogyebea for the RABBI Festival, March-April 2024
Some Personal Experiences
Written by Mensah Adinkrah, Ph.D.
I arrived in Ghana on April 26, 2024, from the United States, to attend and participate in the RABBI Festival at Ekumfi Otuam, the site of Nyankopon ne Fie (The Third Holy Temple of God). For me, this was a marvelous spiritual and cultural experience worthy of note, description and sharing.
My first profound experience of the Festival time was a personal meeting with Okronkronyi Nyame Somafo Yawoh, who is the Messiah, Elijah, and Founder of Asomdwee Ntonton Som. I have had several previous encounters with Messiah through regular zoom meetings beamed directly from Otuam to the United States. I have also met Okronkronyi Nyame Somafo Yawoh several times during a couple of visits to Otuam during non-Festival times. However, meeting the End Times Elijah and Messiah in the context of the Festival was both rapturous and spiritually enlightening. During the 7-day Festival, I had more than seven close personal encounters with Messiah. During each of these times, I had the benefit of having Messiah place His mighty hands atop my head and giving me the accompanying blessings. And there were numerous other occasions when I used the opportunity of being in His presence to stare at Him and try to make eye-to-eye connection for spiritual healing and personal fulfillment. I am forever grateful for these experiences.
Another profound moment in my Festival experience was sitting in the Worshipping Center and listening to Okronkronyi Nyame Somafo Yawoh’s messages and teachings. Experiencing the Festival atmosphere with thousands of other believers and adherents in the
Worshipping Center was awesome. Unquestionably, watching telecasts from Ogyebea is fulfilling. However, having the opportunity to be at the Worshipping Center in Otuam during the Festival time itself is both a superb and incomparable experience. Of course, the Tum Mpaebo that accompanied Messiah’s preachings were also intense and overpowering. Observing the effects of Messiah’s commands asking evil spirits to vacate afflicted people was exhilarating and wonderful. I was glad to be a witness of what His mighty commands can do for the sick and afflicted.
The daily afternoon nkaekae (remembrances) around the Temple as well as the evening ntwaho (circumambulations) were also intense and powerful experiences. Each activity was a major spiritual experience for me. Placing my requests before RABBI, the Most High God, at the conclusion of each nkaekae (remembrances) in the afternoons were, for me, always anticipated daily experiences.
Another intense Festival moment was physically meeting several members of the Diaspora branch of the Asomdwee Ntonton Som Religion at Ekumfi Otuam. There were several Diasporan members that I had interacted with on the zoom platform for close to two years but had never had a chance to meet face-to-face. We had ample time to fraternize at the special seating space reserved for Diasporans at the worship Center. We also had several opportunities to meet and talk at the residential site reserved for the Diasporans. I also had the opportunity to dine on waakye, eat fried yams and sardine, kenkey and fish, and fresh coconuts with fellow diasporans. The whole experience with fellow Diasporans was wonderful and exciting.
In conclusion, I would like to state that words alone are incapable of capturing the total experiences associated with being at the Festival. Make it a point to attend one soon in case you have never had that experience yet. And if you have, go again, and regularly for the uplifting spiritual experiences. For me, my next visit is going to be soon! RABBI Ye Kese, Oye Kese Ampa.
