Finding the “True Religion” in a World of Many Faiths

What It Means for the Modern Student

Written by Mensah Adinkrah, Ph.D.

It is challenging to be a student in contemporary Ghana. The Ghanaian student lives in a world of diverse faiths—Traditional African Religion, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, and others. Christianity alone consists of multiple competing denominations. Many students were baptized in one faith, educated in institutions of another, and are continually exposed to different religious influences on their college campuses. Each faith promises salvation and heaven, yet their forms of worship and moral expectations differ. In many Ghanaian households, family members may follow different religions, adding to the complexity. The pressing question for the modern student often becomes: Which is the True Religion, and how does one attain salvation?

Amid this religious diversity, Ɔkrɔnkrɔnyi Nyame Somafo Yawoh has emerged in Ghana as the Founder and Spiritual Leader of Asomdwee Ntonton Som. He proclaims that He is a Divine Messenger sent by the Most High God, RABBI, to guide humanity toward the True Religion. Asomdwee Ntonton Som teaches the righteous path to salvation and emphasizes spiritual purity through the Holy Spirit and Fire Baptism, which is administered by Ɔkrɔnkrɔnyi Nyame Somafo Yawoh—the only one appointed by God to do so.

Ɔkrɔnkrɔnyi Nyame Somafo Yawoh teaches that Asomdwee Ntonton Som is the Third Religion of the Most High God, following Judaism and Islam. The Religion presently has more than 30,000 members in Ghana and several branches overseas. Its headquarters are located in Ekumfi Otuam, where the Third Holy Temple has been constructed by Ɔkrɔnkrɔnyi Nyame Somafo Yawoh under divine instruction.

Asomdwee Ntonton Som rejects the use of religious items such as anointing oils, the so-called “blood of Christ,” Florida water, powders, stickers, and pomades, teaching that such objects are not from God and constitute idolatry.
